The day before surgery

  • Take 1,000 mg of Tylenol three times (every 8 hours).

  • Take a full bath or shower. Use antibacterial soap (e.g., Dial, Hibiclens) and wash your hair.

  • Remove all rings and jewelry.

  • Remove all fingernail and TOENAIL polish.

  • Do not eat or drink anything after midnight – this includes water, cigarettes, cigars, gum, and mints. You may be instructed to take some of your regular medications on the morning of surgery.
