The day of surgery

  • If you have dentures, make sure to give them to a family member or to someone who can secure them before you enter the procedure.

  • Do not wear make-up on the day of surgery.

  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes to the hospital.

  • Leave all your jewelry and valuables at home.

  • Wear your glasses or bring a contact case and contact solution to safely remove your contact lenses; contact lenses are not permitted to be worn during surgery.

  • Your scheduled arrival time is 2 hours prior to your procedure time.

  • If your surgery is scheduled as an outpatient procedure, make arrangements for a responsible adult to take you home after surgery. You will not be allowed to leave alone or drive yourself home. Someone needs to be with you for the first 24 hours after surgery.

  • Please bring your photo ID and your insurance card. Please note that you may be responsible for hospital payment on the day of surgery.
